OK, I'm slow.... So I'd have to pump about 80 times if I rattle off 40 shots?

It all depends on how you setup YOUR Marauder....If you leave it stock and fill @ 2500-2600psi and shoot down to around 1300psi. It takes about 4-5 min. to Pump* back up. ( I could pump a lot faster probably 2mins) but you Must take a break and let your pump cool down, plus it gives you time to also catch your breath.

So you pump in stages...this works on the same principle as filling with scuba but in reverse because you don't wanna over heat the seals in your pump. that is why you fill slow with scuba  becacuse if you were to fill fast you run the risk of damaging your Gun. (Increase in pressure, Increase of heat)

When I started pumping to 3000-3100psi. samething....i just take my time, about 5-7min.

I fill mine up to 3000psi from ~2000psi and it takes like 60~75 pumps with my Hill hand pump. If I recall correctly, the directions for the hill pump say to give it a rest after about 50 pumps or when the pump body feels excessively warm. I've been using the hill pump everyday now at least once a day...and I pump nice and slow. By the time I get to 3000psi, the pump is just starting to feel warm. I let my hill pump rest at least 15 minutes before I use it again. Heat is what destroys the seals in the pump, so its important to keep the pump as cool as possible. Pumping nice and slow keeps the heat down and my heartbeat too.
