Finally got my B26-2
« on: March 21, 2010, 03:14:51 AM »
Well, after a 20 day struggle, I got a working B26-2. Let me say, Mike Melick at Best Airguns is one GREAT person to do business with. He really went the extra mile to make sure I was taken care of.
The rifle is a real shooter. The trigger is nice, the barrel lockup is tight, and the lube done by Mike makes for a real smooth shot cycle. The fit and finish are a little rough, but not really anything to complain about, especially for the price. I would not hesitate to purchase another rifle from Mike again.
It shoots 1/4 in. groups at 10 yards with less than 200 shots through it. The rifle likes to be rested on a small sandbag right in front of the trigger guard, and a firm hold on the thumbhole stock. I am going to try posting pic's for the first time, so bear with me. snookman

Glad it finally came together for you.   Disappointment sucks.    Good to know that Best Air Guns came through for you.  Many fine things have been said about the character of  Mike Melick.
Excellent groups too.

Yea mike, I was really down when the first gun was trashed in shipping, but the new one is good. I wanted to shoot some groups at 20 and 30 yards today, but a front is pushing through with a lot of rain. I had just enough time this morning to shoot the groups I posted. I shot them after drinking my morning coffee and was a little jittery. I think it is going to be a tack driver once it settles in. By the way, how is your new B26 shooting. I hope it is a good one. snookman

Thanks Jorge, I bought the gun with the recommendations of many of my GTA brothers, and they did not let me down. It is a good gun.  snookman

Not for a brand new springer with 200 pellets through it. Beautiful rifle you have there, and i bet it only gets better.

Not to be mean... but if 1/4 inch is bigpost a target of what you shoot at 10 yards with a springer.... 1/4 inch 5 shot groups is one ragged hole...

matter of fact looking at the target he posted... it looks like the pellets that gun likes is shooting 1/4 inch edge to edge..... which is prolly closer to .15 center to center... (edit actualy lol if its .25 edge to edge it would be .073 center to center for .177 caliber........ yea... thats a BIG group....)

Thanks for the interest guys. I am not a competition shooter, so forgive me if I caused some confusion in the size of the groups, That is why I used the dimes for a reference. I am still trying to break in the gun . It is still smoking after the shots and the groups open up at 20 to 30 yards. I will keep feeding it pellets, and hope it settles in. Good shooting, snookman.
