I've bought off GunBroker and Auction Arms but haven't sold. Been thinking about it, though, because a couple of my guns will fetch much more via an auction than if I try to sell them locally. A gun shop will rip you off - end of story. BUT, you could see if they sell on consignment. Typical rate in my area has been 20% of the seller's price as commission. There are two locally that only charge 15% but one is kind of quirky and the other is picky about what they take in. So, you could sell on GunBroker for, say, $800 or consign it for $800 and (if you get your price) pocket $600. I've done consignments because, for me, it's simpler and I don't have to peddle the gun at a show or do the shipping. Man, I'm selling some air guns and I really hate to do the boxing up! Still, if your guns are popular models, you stand to make more in an auction.
