Need advise on optics
« on: March 24, 2010, 12:11:58 PM »
for years i have been using leapers scope all have held up so far but i just got my new b26 and want to find her a nice scope. i thought i might ask what scopes others are using and there thoughts before jumping into another leapers. currently the 26 is borrowing my cfx's leapers 3-12x44 swat to get her broke in while the cfx is under construction. i wont swear by the leapers  sometimes i wonder if the pellet walking around the target is the scope and not the gun pellet combo.

I primarily use Leapers scopes and also BSAscope and I've been very satisfied , but I've read quite a few posts about how nice the Hawke scopes are.  I don't own any but I'm sure someone will chime in....

Hi Robert, I have a Centerpoint 4-16x40 AO/IR scope on my B 26 .177cal. Very Similar to Leapers brand, I think they are the same manufacturing company. Its clear and bright and recoil rated, I would say medium recoil rated. Excellent Crosman warrantee, just save your receipt.......Bill

I own two Hawke scopes: 4-12x40AO Airmax (sitting on .22 TX200) and 8.5-24x44 Sidewinder Tactical (.22 S410ERB). Both phenomenal. They're pricier yet worth the extra IMO.
Just had a Leapers 3-12x44 SWAT (.22 CFX)  returned. It won't hold zero after 6 months. The replacement will arrive next Monday, and it's a brand-new 3-12x44 SWAT MINI, which I'm thinkng about selling at a discount, to fund another Hawke..

Bushy Sportsman 4-12X40 at Natchez for $48 is an awesome deal. I have it on my Marauder and its one helluva scope.

well been looking for a few days the hawk scopes most definatly sound like great optics but for the price i think i will stick with leapers for now so i just pushed the go button on the leapers 3-9x40 t/s 5th gen i think the b26-2 will like what i bought her. i appreciate all the feed back and think if i were to go with a more high end setup i would go with the hawk optics and as for the bushnell i have had to many just go to crap on me and not hold zero there for they were out from the start.

Strange how some scopes work great for some, not for others.

My Whisper killed the Leapers 3-12X44 mini Swat a few months ago. I finally got around to seeing about sending it back and got an an email ok-ing it last night.

Back when it died, I put an old Bushnell 3-8X50 Sportview that I took off my 12 ga slug gun and it's held up fine.
