Webley Tomahawk 22 Scope Slippage
« on: March 25, 2010, 05:52:18 AM »
Hi all this is my first posting so bear with me.  Gene/anyone, how did you solve the issue of scope slippage on your Tomahawk? I am using a heavy scope "Swift Premier Model # SRP686M" @ 23.6 ounces.  My new Sportsmatch AOP 55 walked off the rifle after 30 shots.

Thanks for your help.

First off Ed, tell me if it is a UK built Tomahawk? Did you try to mount your scope with the way that Longislandhunter suggests? It is very effective. Do a search on mounting your scope by Longislandhunter. Also if it is a Turkish made Tomahawk they are extremely harssh compared to the UK made ones. I found no solution for detuning them accept replacing the entire piston itself with one that is a pound or so lighter..:)

Thanks Gene and Eric for the warm reception.  Yes it is a UK Tomahawk, one I bought in 2005 from AofA, I really like the rifle and seems quite accurate. I was just hoping for some tips that have worked for other Tomahawk owners. Gene you may be right on the detuning, however, it will be last on the list of things to try.
Best regards
Ed

Thanks Mark. Looks like my Pyramyd Air order is going to get a bit larger, lets see.......new mount, more ammo, that new Benjamin Trail in 22, more ammo, new case for the Benji, more ammo, and last but not least something for the wife.  Well at least the shipping will be free.

Ed that mount is the best mount available. I have a few of them and they will ot move once installed properly. You actually have to spread the dove to get them to go on your rails. The best that money can buy for sure.
