Question with Barrel Lockup as Gamo One Piece Mount
« on: April 16, 2007, 05:30:28 AM »
I was reading an article by AKA “CharlieDaTuna” on barrel lockup being one of the contributors to inconsistent shot pattern. I have a new 440 Hunter that appears to have a little barrel droop as when the scope is mounted the elevation is almost maxed out at 30 yds. I was thinking that it maybe associated to barrel lockup so what is the correct way to check to make sure I’m getting correct lockup…

Also, anyone have any experience with the Gamo One-piece Adjustable base sold at Pyramyd?

Thanks, Tom

PS, I am new to air gunning and just wanted to say that boy this sure is a great place to learn as everyone is very helpful and friendly.

:D :D

Sight down the side of the receiver and barrel.

If it's got droop, it oughta be fairly obvious.

Yeah, I have one on my S1k. The quality isn't that great, but it works ok.

Thanks for the help.  I think I will call Gamo in the morning on what they recommend doing as I don't want the scope adjusted out all the way.  Once you get the adjustment that far to the extreme most scopes won't stay sighted in plus you lose focus.

Thanks again, Tom
