Shadow fiber optic

Hi,
I have the Gamo Shadow 1000 purchased in 2004.  Where can I get a replacement front site  fiber rod.  The front site is in good condition so I only want to replace the red insert.

I have seen them on MidwayUSA.com but I do not know the diameter of the rod.  Can this be inserted easily or do I have to purchase the plactic retainer?  Thanks
