you are exactly right, gene. but if you've had both guns side-by-side, w/ the longbow or tomahawk for instance (i haven't seen a turkish-made xocet), you'll notice there are several differences. the stocks are not interchangeable - that should explain that the parts are different. these xocets were assembled in turkey. ......w/ all uk parts. they had a small supply of uk parts and used them up before or as they were machining turkish parts. they were unfinished parts, gene. that's why they have been finished (blued) and coded from turkey. the 'tr' designates turkey, and that's what the new webs have on them. webley uk (the hurney's) told me that was in compliance w/ regulations - like that matters to me. i'm more about the cost of an airgun first. some of these transitionals have the bracket that recieves the forearm stock screws welded on. that's the only differences - the bracket (on some), and the finish/labeling on the steel. you are exactly right about another thing, gene. they do not make these english-crafted webleys anymore, so if you have a chance to snag one reasonably priced - do it. (like chris p did on a .25 uk birmingham stamped tomahawk). but you gotta see the ads at the time they are posted - they go quick. i'd be willing to send one of these to you to check out, gene. can you just call me or email me ? - take care. - paul in ft.worth.
