Gamo Big Cat?
« on: April 18, 2007, 08:07:18 AM »

What model is this thing Wallyworld is selling? To me it looks like a shadow series gun but the box is saying Big Cat and nothing else. Comes with a 3x9x40 scope and some of them go fast lol gamo pellets. Box says 1250fps with the PBA's and 1000 fps with others, although I dont really care about what the box says I am just trying to give a description so someone might be able to indentify this thing for me.

Thanks

John

Prolly is a shadow powerplant. Those seem to be the specs of one.

Has the same fluted bullbarrel as the shadow series guns. I dunno though.

Pretty much the same gun as the Shadow Sport from what I understand. It should be a good shooter. I have two friends that have the Shadow Sport and they love it. The Big Cat should be equally as good, just a little cheaper. My friends did get their Shadow Sports from Midsouth for $166 and free shipping. Not bad. Hope this helps and have a blessed day!:D

They want 158 and some cents for the Big Cat here Gene. Here is the thing I am thinking I am just gonna return the SS1000 and get this Big Cat gamo because I am really just not impressed with the SS1000 trigger assembly. And from what I have seen on the gamo's atleast it is adjustable and can take Bob's trigger mod for it. So I can spend 30 more bucks and get the Gamo and at least have a shootable gun.

Well here is my plan....since I am gettin together with Roald and Dan this weekend I need something with a little more oomph than my B3, which is not even done yet but together for some testing hehe. Since I havent decided what I am doing with the B26-2 yet I still havent gotten to shoot it :0. So I am thinking tomorrow after work return the Beeman replace itwith this gamo big cat dealy break it in with a thousand or so shots and send it off to Bob for a full work over. I am also thinking about taking Dan up on his offer to help me with the B26-2 stock and just cutting that damn cheek off and sanding down the stock and redoin it. I like a darker finish than whats on it now anyways lol.

John, have you thought of plastic surgery yet?...:)  I did when I had my high comb -2 stock..:)  I did some investigation and come up with some prices....

To have my right cheek bone lowered it was $18000.00... plus meds..:)

To have my right eye and socket moved 1" down and to the right 2", cost was $24000.00....:) plus meds and post eye examination..

That would of given me a clear sight through my $69.00 scope..:)

Just a thought....... hehe

A couple of months ago I found a Big Cat in WallyWorld and the box was open.  Matter of fact they were trying to sell it at a discount because someone had stolen the scope out of the box.

Anyway, I took the rifle out of the box and I wasn't impressed with it, it just looked and felt rather "cheap" with all that plastic.  If it's the same internal platform as the Shadow then I guess it probably shoots fine, but I didn't like all that plastic.

But,,, being one to never miss out on a bargain I tried to find someone to give me price on the gun.  After 15 minutes of not being able to locate the sporting goods "manager" and having sales clerks tell me they had no idea what the price was I just left the gun in the opened box and went home.

Jeff I hear what you are saying about the plastic... I myself am not a big fan of syn stocks or plastic shrouds. But honestly out of the box the thing shoots pretty darn good. Good power, trigger adjustment from factory is nice, and its a straight shooter if you don try to adjust the scope with a cement block..... talk to Dano and Silo about the scope adjustment lol.

Just buy the 440 from Natchez. You get a wood stock a metal trigger guard, and a proven track record.  OH it cost less too! Seems like a no brainer.
