Evanix pcp alot better than the m-rod??? looking for more power

I have a maruader in .177 and its my all time favorite gun .But now I would like upgrade to a more powerfull gun .I dont want to break the bank but I was looking at the new evanix guns coming out they are in my price range .Are the evanix guns a better built gun than the marauder And would they be alot louder ?????I like the blizzard also but it seems the power maybe close to the same as the maruader .Has anyone shot both the maruader and the evanix blizzard how do they compare ???

i own a mauder .22 and love  it.i do knoe that the evanix line are more for hunting just from reviews ive seen.as far as are they built better i too want to know because im really looking at the rainstorm for my next gun

The Blizzard is a 47fpe gun the Mrod is a 30fpe.  The Blizzard is sold in Europe as a Webley.  The stock is light years better than the Mrod.  The triggers are equal.  The Blizzard is a bit louder than the Mrod. The fit & finish of the Blizzard has a slight edge.  looks are subjective.  The lever action is butter smooth out the box.  It is power adjustable via a hammer spring screw similar the the Mrod & Condor.  I have the new Rainstorm which is a carbine version of the Blizzard.  In fact all the new Evanix guns except for the AR6/4 line use the blizzards action, shroud & air tube.   I did a review of my Rainstorm on the yellow forum with pics.  There are a few on reviews on this forum, some good, a couple bad.  The price is the only thing keeping the Evanix gun from selling more since it has the Mrod to compete with.  The price has been lowered to $599

I have only seen a Marauder, not shot one side by side with my Evanix Blizzard. I have shot side by side with an Air Arms 410s. I will take my Blizzard. More power, just as accurate(I shooting mine, the friend shooting his 410) stock on the Blizzard a bit nicer and the finish about the same. Good accuracy with the Blizzard. I get 40 solid shots before having to pump it up. Could probably go more but I don't want to have to do TOO much pumping at one time.

It likes 21-3- grain pellets better than 18 and less, at least mine does and from what others have said this seems to be standard.  One of these days I will get a Chrony and work on adjusting it up and down and see how well that works for me.

All I know is it is accurate, looks and feels very nice, is not heavy and shoots well. After I get access to a Marauder in .22 I will do a comparison. That won't be too soon unless someone happens by or I find someone nearby.

It is one nice air rifle and I did take down a coyote with one shot, through the left eye right at 40 yards which is the sweeet spot I have it sighted in at. All conditions were nearly perfece for the shot so that helped a lot. Just like I was shooting at a target or fencepost sighting it in. Then I missed pigeons on top of the barn later... so having time to relax as the coyote worked his way in closer helped. Wish it would happen more often.

It is a fact that Crosman M-Rod is has a plaiin stock and the metal work is so so. But and that is a BIG BUT...:) You will not find a PCP for under $500.00 like the M-Rod. The M-Rod will shoot a heck of allot of pellets with at 2500 psi fill. I bet more than a Blizzard or the Air Arms that need a 3000 psi fill.  The M-Rod was made in my opinion to open the door a bit wider for the new not yet decided air gunner who is looking at those $600.00 and  up price tags on other PCP.  I have nothing against Air Arm or Evanix. I own a few Air Arn air guns and sometimes I wish that Crosman had come out with the Discovery and M-Rod a few years earlier..:) For sure I would not have some of the PCP's that I have now..:)  If you want power then of course the Evanix is the way to go. If you want superior accuracy and asthetics then the Air Arms PCP' are your best bet for under a $1000.00.  

I think that for the majority of us who shoot that the M-Rod is sufficent enough and as accurate as the average sport shooter needs. Wth a decent trigger and enough power to shoot targets and small game the M-Rod fits the bill without going to deep into your pockets...:)

Yeah...I love my Marauder, And honestly the gun is more accurate than I AM. You see people say that a lot... but trust this is probably the best bang for the buck!

Plus who really needs more than 30fpe? My Mrod on stock settings was shooting through pennys at 15 yards! We are talking about a gun that can shoot a target 100 yards out of the box. If you can't stalk within 50 yards you should stop hunting.

Gene my rainstorm could shoot JSB Monsters @ 48 fpe over a 20 shot string w/ a 2800 PSI fill.  All the Evanix rifles need a 2900 fill or less.  All the new Evanix rifles are power adjustable.  I can turn the power down to accept a 2500 fill & get over 50 shots @ 30fpe.  I agree @ $400 buxk the Mrod is a great gun I had one in 22 before I had to sell it.  The Mrod trigger is great & so is the Rainstorms.  Price is the only thing the Mrod beats the Rainstorm on & it's a big difference.  If the Rainstorm were $475-$525 it would make buying the Mrod a lot harder choice.  At a $200 difference it's no contest.

So if as the post stated. "looking for more power"  If the a shorter, Idonesian Walnut stocked, 47fpe & accurate gun is worth $200 more than the Evanix Rainstorm is the gun.  If you don't mind a longer gun, the Blizzard will work.

My take on the marauder is the prise is more popular than the gun...
being made in the US has a attraction for the US buyer aswell....
if a Theoben/AA/Daystate etc were the same prise as a Marauder...not so meany would buy a Marauder..
Just on this forum the amount of first time PCP buyer that bought a Marauder...or disco in the past...prise
made it possable for them to enter the darkside....
If yer got the $ and don't mined spending it...look ferther than a Marauder...

They won't be so popular out side the US because there prise will be a lot
closer to a AA/Theoben / Daystate  etc...exchange rates /shiping / import duty/ tax"GST" etc
will all eat into the Marauders prise advantage..

They do seem to be a good gun ......

I was not sure on the fill pressure Mac but still the M-Rod will give you more shots per fill... You are killing me with these constant replies and posts on the new Rainstorm..:) I want one very badly but have not pushed the button yet..:)

It will @ the stock power levels but I can turn the power down to 30fpe & get as many or more shots than the Mrod because the Rainstorm air tube is a higher capacity than the Mrod.

Pete, I wish I could afford those 3 pcp guns you mentioned . Yes they are nice rifles but I will just have to stick with my Mrod and still enjoy the darkside.... If I really wanna get down and dirty I will pull out and shoot my powder-burnners...
