Creative depinging
« on: April 08, 2010, 03:44:18 AM »
I keep forgetting to stop at Home-Depot on my way home to get a piece of tubbing.
So Last night I started digging around and came up with a piece of rubber I had cut off the end of a dishwasher drain hose.
I slit it down the side and cut strips off until it fit in my airtube. I used a socket and 12 inch extender to slide it down the tube.
Worked like a charm.

Rickster,

Pardon my ignorance, but just what is this mod for? What's it do? What gun? How does it work? Where's it go?

Its simply a vibration dampener installed in the air tube of a PCP rifle.
It deadens the Ping or ringing sound the tube makes when the gun is fired.

I have a Benji Marauder, and I think it works on Evanix rifles.
I don't know for sure all the guns it works on.

Thanks Rick, the video helped. So did this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUE3c9GxkHU

My Mrod is arriving tomorrow. Might have to try this. One question I have after watching the video I provided the link to. He say's something about reattaching the barrel band and make sure the barrel is free floating. What is he referring to and is this a big risk?

When you put it back to gather, you just want to make sure the barrel is centered left to right in the whole in the barrel band.
Freefloating just means, the barrel and tube aren't anchored to each other.
