WHERE WOULD YOU GO...
« on: April 08, 2010, 03:50:12 PM »
1  You have 30 day's to spend ANYWHERE in the world and "live off the land".

2  You can have 2 airguns-2  rifles, 2 pistol or one of each.[ You have to choose out of what you own.]

3  You can have a knife- your choice.

4 You can bring 4 other items with you.[ pellets / airgun gear doesn't count as an item ]

Where would you go/ what would you bring?

My choices-

1  Austrailian Outback.

2  Walther Falcon hunter-.22  for big stuff /  Crosman Pumpmaster 760 for little stuff

3  My Gerber Survival knife.

4  Canteen / tarp / firestarter / rope.

These are quick answeres . I could spend days changing my mind if I thought about it long!

We do have a few Timber Rattler's around, - but not many, and mostly (as far as we know) in the White Mountain region. In fact during winter, you'd most likely be on snowshoes a couple of feet above them. ;)

We do have rattlesnakes here in upstate NY.  Oh, and don't forget about all the Libtards running around up here too.  This would be such a nice state if it wasn't for all the damned Libtards.

Not to hot in summer, hummidity is not to bad,  winters are very mild, and spring and autum is just beautiful here. Not to mention no smog, dirty air or traffic..:) For instance it has been in the 70's and 80's here ever since the first of April...:)

As for the 4 items I could bring.....

1) My survival knife

2) water purification kit

3) wind proof survival lighter

4) that guy who does the tv show "Man Against the Wild"  :)

You didn't say which 30 days... if it's October, I would pick Michigan, assuming shadow has left any game there at all... :-)

Seriously, I grew up there, and I think I could go in any public forest and live off the land for 30 days. I might take the Cometa or the RWS34, and skip the other gun in favor of a fishing rod. Nothing like a balanced diet.

If I could have a tank and fills, I might opt for the Marauder, but I don't have a pump. I would hate to spend 30 days on 25 shots!

Michigan is a sportman's paradise, 6 months a year (if you're not hung up on legal seasons, you are talking survival, right?). April-June and September-November, it's the place to be.

In the off months, I'm thinking Hawaiian islands, something like that... I have actually hunted in South Australia and while it was interesting, it wouldn't be my first choice. If you really like rabbits it might be an option because they have huge European hares in abundance. I prefer squirrel.

I don't think they have snakes in Australia? At least not poisonous ones. There are some nasty spiders but no worse than CA. It's the wombats, god help us the wombats... nasty buggers, like a rectangle of gristle....

Las Vegas.     What would I take?     Cash,  lots of cash.        Live off the land?    Hit the Buffets.  And the restaurants.    Hate to admit it but that is my idea of living off the land.

Items to take.    Whatever it takes to be comfortable in the Casinos.   Which would be even more Cash.

Death adder- that sounds pretty hostile. So, heck with Australia then.

Dave, if I remember correctly.....I think Australia have 80% of the world's species of poisonous snakes....and don't forget about their crocodiles....the fresh water and salt water versions....sheesh!!!

Thanks guys about the rattlesnakes in Northern N.Y State. In that case I'll head even more north and endure the cold. Just have to worry about the wolves, coyotes, bears....maybe a rare cougar or bobcat.....those I can deal with.
