My MM tuned B-12.....
« on: April 11, 2010, 09:47:33 AM »
I toyed around with getting a low powered .177 springer. The R-7, HW-30, HW50 were all out of my price range. I couldn't get my hands on a CZ 634 and was sure about the RWS 92 or 93. I read a couple reviews on the B-12 and most had good things to say about it. All said the same about the trigger, it just plans sucks (especiallly after shooting in and R-1 yesterday). I sent an email to Mike for one of the tuned B-12's. It got here and I took her out back to give her a go. The gun is easy to cock, has an automatic safety at the rear like an RWS and is a smooth shooter. I have not broke out to she where she is running just yet. I was having a hard time getting the excess lube burned off and the gun was giving a shotgun pattern. I have purchased several springers tuned by Mike and this one took the longest to burn off. I mounted an old Crosman 3-9x40 AO I had off one of the G1 Extremes I used to have. I've decide that I'm going to try out the new leapers compact 3-9x40 AO on this gun to save a little weight. Well after about 400 rounds she finally started to settle down so here is where the fun begins. I went through 14 different types of pellets before I found one that would work well. The winner ended up being the Crosman Premier 7.9gr brown box. Here are 2 pictures of the target I shot. I'll post some pics later if I ever get a couple extra dollars to buy the compact scope. Net is to try and polish up the trigger and see if I can get it smoother. I almost forgot the target was just past 20 yards with the gun rested on a sand bag balanced on top of a hand rail of the back deck. One last thing, While I was leading the barrel and burning off the excess lube I had a one pellet kind of dialed in not sure which one but out to 25 yards I have dispatched 3 squirrels so it has the power to do it in close. :-)

Sounds like you have a fine lil target shooter there Jason. I have the B16 which was tuned fom Mike, took it on a trade and it's a accurate shooter. Ed

Yeah Ed she seems to be coming around. I have a bump in the trigger right before it breaks so it takes time to shoot her. I want to try and polish it out a little. Needs to pick up some more CP's as well. Forgot to add in the main post that the group is a 7-8 shot group. I lost count cause I had to go down and look a the target cause I thought I had missed it a couple times.

My b16 likes JSB Exact RS 7.3g the best....very accurate, very quiet. Trigger does require patience though.
