Which arm do you use?
« on: April 12, 2010, 11:49:41 AM »

Do most people use their right or left arm to cock a springer (assuming most people are right handed)? I try to use both (to stop uneven bicep syndrome), but if I'm not paying attention I default to using my left. I'm right handed.

Does that make me weird? Sorry, just one of those silly little questions that just starts to bug you once you think of it lol

Yep I use my left hand and arm to cock my break barrels and underlevers. I never let the lever or barrel loose until I have the pellet inserted in the breech.  As most folks know most under lever breeches are more open to the right. This is the way my TX and PS are,  but HW felt sorry for the defected wrong handed people and lets the breech port open all the way...:) I know Shadowshot had a TX but sold it. I often wondered if he sold it because of the loading port being towards the right side and he is a wrong handed guy..:)

Yeah, I usually use my left hand to cock the rifles as well.  Although when my rotator cuff joint starts to act up I'll switch.....

I've got a bad rotator cuff in my left shoulder too, compliments of a rather spectacular hi speed skiing accident.

Does a partial tear ever actually get better, or can you only compensate for it by strengthening that set of muscles? Lord willing mine will keep getting better (even though it's acted up of late); I do the physical therapy for it religiously. I'm 22, so maybe youth will help it heal.

I am right handed.I started out cocking both my break barrels and underlevers  right handed, then switched to left.  It's more comfortable for me.

I use left arm on guns with scopes and shoot them right handed and I use my right arm on guns with open sights and shoot left handed my left eye works better with open sights:) I can shoot equally either right or left.
