The guy had taught here in a Sunday School class some years before. He was a religious leader in his community and a Utah State Legislator. He brokered a deal to pay her for keeping quiet through a Church leader where she lived. Sounds like an illegal contract to keep quiet about criminal activity on his part and maybe a shakedown to keep her trap shut on her part.
Anyhow, the guy has now been outed, resigned from the Utah legislature and was given a STANDING OVATION by his fellow legislators when leaving. A Standing Ovation for a Child Molester?
In reading the articles forwarded to me by friends I can't believe anyone is this stupid. And now it comes out that a couple years ago, still a legislator and now a Mormon Bishop(pastor for a local congregation) he was caught drunk driving and somehow managed to keep that quiet. I can't for the life of me figure out how a State Legislator can keep a DUI quiet. The newspapers folk in Utah must be pretty bad to miss news like this.
What should happen to guys like this? "I did not have *_*_*_*_*_* with that woman"... like Bill Clinton maybe?
I know it isn't air guns but the hypocritical thing is pretty sad as a commentary on religion, politicians and those in authority over young kids. Apparently his video store made a bid deal of not carrying or renting NC17/R rated movies. Some kind of big deal in Utah according to friends who are following this. Sounds like Baptists in Texas where I grew up. Some things never change, do they?
