BEST PELLET
« on: April 13, 2010, 07:15:08 AM »
I am haveing a hard time finding a pellet that even comes close to shooting as good as polymags in my .22 marauder.cphp are the middle group and the four corners are polymags.all shot were at 33 yards of the bench.

ive tried crow mags,cp domes in the box, cphp in the tins, and jsb 14.3.the cphp are the second best so far.

i dont have alot of jsbs because i only hear bad things about them in the marauder.

id like some other pellet choices from some of you that have shot alot of differant pellets out of your marauder.

all were 5 shots

These are what I've tried so far in my .22 MRod:  JSB Heavies, JSB 15.9gr, Baracuda Match, Crosman Premiers Box, Crosman Pointed, Predators, RWS Meister, RWS Superdomes, and Beeman FTS.  So far the best groups I get are with the Beeman FTS and the Predators.  Your MRod may not like the Beeman FTS, but if you're asking for my opinion, then I would recommend the Beeman FTS, since it works best in mine.  I have some H&N FTT, H&N Rabbit Magnum II, and some CPHP on the way to test out.

Some info on my MRod: it's stock; nothing has been done to it, other than adjusting it to 2900 psi.  I still get the occasional flier, but that hasn't deter me from shooting it.  My two farthest kills so far are two pigeons at 94 yards, measured with a Nikon Prostaff 550 rangefinder.

Happy shooting!

I have found with PCPs get up into the 20+ grain range..
try H&N 21g pellets....My career shoots Gamo TS22 pretty dam well..
PCPs send the light sub 16g to fast...The Career spits out a 14.5g at 1220fps
can't hit anything..
Get it below 1000fps..
