Benjamin Trail NP $217
« on: April 16, 2010, 07:38:08 AM »
Cheaper than Dirt has this on their web site.  I tried to order one but they will not ship into NY state.  I do not live in NY city (upstate), and have not had this problem in the past.  CtD first told me that the ATF web site had a list of restricted states.  I checked and ATF just says that they do not regulate air rifles or airsoft and to check with your local regulations.  Anyone know if this is just CtD being an unfriendly supplier?

I tried my state to just for the fun of it and they don't ship to Rhode Island either. Strange no restriction in this state. I e-mail them and asked why they wont ship to Rhode Island. I'll let you know what they said if they reply.

Peter,,,

I'm also in NYS.  About 2 years ago I ordered an air rifle from Cheaperthandirt and they notified me they do not ship to NY State.  I called them on the phone and spoke to a very nice man.  I explained to him that in Suffolk County it's perfectly legal to have air guns shipped to you, I even mentioned to him all the other online air gun retailers that have shipped guns to me with no problem.  His response was that it was their policy not to ship anywhere in NY State and that they would not make any exceptions.

I used to buy quite a bit of stuff from them but since then I refuse to buy anything from them.  I told their representative of my intentions to stop buying from them and he simply said that he was sorry to be losing a customer but he would not budge from their air gun policy.

I apologize for the inconvenience, for most of our restrictions are dictated by  state law. Other restrictions are company policy based on lack of clarity in state regulations and previous experience with the state jurisdiction in question. If you can own it according to your laws and we list it as restricted, then it is company policy that prevents the sale.
