Pellet clipping!!

While shooting the 10M target shooting match today, I noticed that the hole left by the shot was slightly oval! I checked the new moderator but there was no sighs of clipping! Could it be that the air escaping from behind the pellet is escaping un-evenly causing the pellet to flip up a touch? If this is the case, I may have to redesign the moderators internals!! Therefore, each baffle needs to be spot on to ensure the air that escapes, escapes evenly! Is there a rule of thumb for the size of the hole?

Any help on this topic would be most appreciated!

Crosman changed .22 baffle to .280 to stop clipping, don't know what size hole needed for .177. someone will chime in w/ hole size that Crosman uses in their .177 baffles.....Franky

My M-rod .177 baffles are drilled at .250

In my experiences baffles typically work best when they`re diff. lengths,IE:if you have 3 ,you should have 1 long,1 med.,and a shorty............ :)Just my .02!
