Well I got my Gamo Hunter up and running very good again so went to the swamp to hit all the yardarge and make a range card. Got it sighted for 15-45 yards then decided to see what was moving around. Foud 3 squirrels playing around. Stalked and stalked and stalked and never got a clear shot. NC swamps are thinck! I sat still and watched 1 squirrel run across a tree that crossed the atv trail. SO I eased back and sat real stil waiting on the 2nd I could hear coming twords me. I crouched real low and looked over and 15 yards away was a doe! probably 90 lbs. I sat there still as I could. I was down wind so was good and if I could have stopped my heart to be even more steady and quiet I would have paused it too. Watched her walk right by. nibbling and strolling. Was awesome to be so close and she never saw me. I sat thetre till I couldnt hear her anymore then went home smileing and bragging like I just killed a grizzly! Was so cool to see a deer that close and just watch her walk by. Came home empty handed but very happy. I know lots of hunters that would go crazy to see a doe 15 yards away.
