O Ring grease

In reading I find petroleum based lubricants/grease are not recommended for use on the air rifles due to reaction of some sort with the rubber O rings. I have pucked up a tube of Sil-Glyde lubricating Compound. http://www.agscompany.com/downloads/datasheet/sil-glyde_lubricating_-_tds.pdf

Is this the right stuff to lube the O Rings on the fill adapter for the Evanix blizzard and maybe use on the rubber O Rings around the pellet area on the 350 Magnum and others?

It is not petroleum based so I am checking to make sure this is The Right Stuff.

Why not use rubber grease ?
After all its made for seals/ O-rings etc..
And it comes in either castor or lanolin based.
Its all I use on my PCP o-rings..
good for the fill probe & bolt o-rings..

The reason I ask is in going to all the auto parts stores within 60 miles, the hardware and farm supply stores in the same distance... this is the ONLY tube of stuff I could find. Nothing like 'food grade' rubber lubricant or protector in the grocery stores and canning supply section either.

After reading Kiwi's post about this I did the looking and this is what was available. The question is, will it work OK? It says it is for Orings and rubber and is harmless, won't run or melt, effective from -20 to +400 F and is 'harmless to rubber'.

So, if for some reason it won't work for Air Rifle applications I will go online and order something else. Just trying to shop locally. Small town businesses need all the support they can get and driving over 100 miles to find the China Outlet(WalMart) isn't something I want to do. I visit that place for one main product... Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil in the 5 quart containers. No one beath their price. Just don't make a special trip to get it but do so when I have to be in the Big City for something else. There price on Crosman Premier Hollow Points is also worth my buying from them. $6.49 a tin while the local Pamiida is $14.99 a tin. So, just like the motor oil I get a half dozen and make sure I have it on hand.

I only use pure silicone grease from a divers supply,people put there lives in it`s trust,and that`s a strong endorsement to me......just my .02! :)

the story of Divers grease...
buy a bulk surply of silicone food grade grease with a corosion inhibitor...
re-package it in small containers..
re-name it Divers Grease..
And sell it for a infated prise..

You can get it at any hardware store just look for silicone plumbing grease,it can also be found at the auto parts store in little packs by the register's as dielectric grease for spark plugs.
