Well after a few days of not shooting at the grackles they have become very bold so I thinned them out by 5. 3 shots were at 30-33 yards one was 25 and the other at 30 ft. 3 dropped where they were hit, 1 the big male mad it across the channel into the feild behind my house and flew smack into the ground. He was gliding then just flew right in. Ill take that as a kill. The 4th one at 25 yards I shot through the neck and out his opposit wing. He jumped up and ran with this nasty grackle scream. Sounded like oh sweet baby jesus what was that! sombody help me! Yall didnt know I could speak grackle did ya. Any way so he jumped up and ran across the yard and down my boat ramp figured he was a gonner and left it. then when I go to pick them up for pics he was gone! didnt know grackles could swim. I got the 4 farthest ones with my 350 and man it did the trick. 2 of the 3 at 30-33 yards fell and kicked maybe once. The close one I got with my Gamo hunter. He was sitting on the ground and was a nice downward shot on him. Blew right threw him and he didnt even flinch.
And now the real fun. Well had to get the kids all cleaned up and ready for bed. After that it was dark and no more shooting so went out to collect my trophy's and could only find 2 of the 3 that fell on the spot. I came in grabbed my hat with the flash light and searched the area. Under the fig tree I found feathers! So either one of the neighborhood dogs got it or I have a bigger and meaner target. I looked a little but wasnt sticking my face in the tree incase it was still there. If its not a neighbor dog I dont want anything to do with it unless im looking through the scope at it.
Hope yall injoy the pic I had fun making it.
