Robbery
« on: April 26, 2010, 02:35:12 PM »
Roseville police are looking for two men who robbed the Roseville Liquor store on County Road B Wednesday morning and sent a nearby school into lockdown.
Police were called to the B-Dale strip mall on County Road B just before noon, on reports of a man firing a handgun at a car.
When they arrived the store owner said two men entered his store. He says one distracted him, while the other stole the cash box.
He says when he confronted them, they implied they had a gun and a confrontation broke out. The owner told police he followed them as they fled and fired numerous shots at their Oldsmobile Cutlass.
The car was discovered abandoned behind a vacant business on the 600-block of Larpenteur Ave. about ten minutes later.
While all this was happening, several students were playing outside at Parkview Center School. The school went into lockdown for around 15 minutes. No one was hurt.

I Know the owners of that Liquor Store that was robbed. The owner has a hand gun, and ran after the two that robbed his store trying to get them to stop. One of the two that robbed the store cased the place a week earlier without buying anything. Basically they knew where the office was located and robbed the daily deposit plus what was in the till. The owner ran outside with his handgun, "God Bless Him" trying to stop the idiots that robbed him.The only thing I can add is, too bad he didn't drop both right in his store.
Sorry if that offends anyone, but it's my opinion.

While the feeling is mutual, there`s a problem,if he didn`t see the gun and had shot them, their family could possibly clean him out :o

Agreed,
In MN if you rob someone's establishment, and even claim to have a gun, the owner have the right to protect their asset.
Does not matter if it’s a water pistol…
The point I'm making is if you want to rob someone, you should pay the price.  You hear stories of a perp breaking into a person’s house and they shoot the perp, next thing you know the perp sues the home owner for shooting him.
All B. S. in my opinion
If you want to commit an act of robbery you should pay the price.

Well actually the law in most states says that if a robbery is committed and there is the appearance or the implication that a gun is involved you are charged with armed robbery even if there is no gun.  so that being said the owner shouldn't have been liable for defending himself from the possible threat had he shot them.

Agree, too bad those actors weren't "put down" on the spot, - two less clowns to be concerned about. - Talk about liquor stores, back in the Stone Age my father worked in one part-time. This place (Cambridge, Ma.) was getting held up a tad too often. So the owner hired an off-duty cop to stay in the back room, - as sort of a surprise for the "next time". - When the "next time" happened, and it did - they cleaned out the register ad took a little of the inventory with no problem. - The cop was sound asleep, - he decided to take a nap, and slept through the whole thing.

I agree, should have shot them but then all the back lash for defending what is your he probably would have lost it all for stopping a criminal and had to pay the criminals family cause now they cant afford to feed the kids and buncha other crap. I think we should revert back about 100 years and if you break a law you get broke. You act like a terd you get your a$$ kicked.

ANd on the laws, I like Fla's. You rob some one and have a gun on you weather you pull it or not your looking at 10 years. Pull it and 20 use it weather you hit your target or not 30!

Magnum,
Like the part of the Castle Law, "Make My Day Law"
The law's nickname is a reference to the famous line uttered by Clint Eastwood's character Harry Callahan in the 1983 film Sudden Impact, "Go ahead, make my day."
