New gun here tonight
« on: April 28, 2010, 12:37:53 AM »
I ordered one of the RWS 52 in .177 "on sale" last week. I have been tracking it on UPS.COM and can say it has been a wild ride. Emotions up and down. Yes, yes, drive faster.  What?  Parked over the weekend in Dallas ?  WHAT FOR ?  Oh, oh, moving again.  Here in KC.  Out for delivery this morning.  I'm worn out just watching.

But I enjoyed it. Part of the process. Can't wait to get it out of the box and take a look.  Of course my wife will play tricks on me.  Why no honey, the UPS guy was not here.  Did you order something ?  You would have told me if you bought another gun, right ?  Bat bat the eyes.  Aaagh. GIVE IT UP.  WHERE IS THE BOX ?  After I admit yes, I squandered the kids inheritance - she will tell me it is in one of the closets.    Actually not that bad. She is darn good and understanding about my ‘bad habits’.  Even sends me outside on some nice days to shoot and get out of her way in the house. Brings me a beer now and then too!

I have a .25 marauder that was mailed from pyramid yesterday. i got an email confirmation from pyramid yesterday that it was shiped. its being shiped to florida. When i go on ups web site to track it, ups says that have no information on it. Does that sound right with your experience? I got the conformation email from pyramid yesterday at 4:00pm. it is 8:30 am the next day now. Does it sound like i may have a problem here? I gotta know exactly when it gets here on the island i live on in florida so I can take off work to sign for it. Thanks for anyones reply in advance.

Got mine from AoA. They sent me the tracking number in the confirm email.
If it has been overnight, the number should be in the system.  Mine worked fine.  I watched it check in/out at every stop.
Might give them a call at PA.

That just means UPS hasn't picked up the package from PA yet.  As soon as the driver scans the package into the system it will start showing movement.  That tracking number only means that the label was printed and taped to your package.  They sent the tracking number as a courtesy regardless of whether or not it has shipped yet.

Ok. thanks for everyones help. I just got an email from pyramid (24 hours after shipment) that there was a mistake and the gun was shiped through fedex, not UPS, and i clicked the link to the tracking number they sent and it is on its way. Everything looks good to put some quater bore holes in some targets on friday.

Congratulations on a very well made air rifle. The RWS line of air guns are one of my favorite air guns to work on..:) They metal is superior and everything is well machined. One cannot go wrong with the RWS 48, and 52 series. And if your budget can stretch a bit more the 54 is one sweet shooter as well. My preference for the heavier RWS air guns has lead me to stay way from owning one..:) I like the simple barrel cocking springers the best so that is where I put my money. But I amdefinitely a admirer of the big RWS Big Boys for sure..:)

Grats on the new gun.  I picked up my new RWS 48 today.  At least you can get yours shipped to your house.  I live in NJ and had to have mine shipped to a buddy in PA and drive an hour to pick it up.
I can\'t save your soul but I\'d be willing to make you an offer on it...

for the comments. I opened it up last night. Really nice. It was packed well and UPS took care of it. No box damage at all. Not even the black aluminum oxidation smeared all over it.  According to the test shots, high number was 1161fps and low number was 1120fps. It was too dark to shoot last night. I will clean it up and try it out this weekend and get some pics.

Darn it, now a really nice 46E came up for sale over on the yellow.  STOP IT. STOP IT.
