It is no problem shipping air riflesUSPS from a regular US Post Office. The franchise stores may have their own policies. I just go to the PO.
I still think UPS is the way to go for overall professionalism, but depending on the addresses, sometimes USPS is cheaper. In my experience the Post Office hasdone a pretty good job with AG deliveries.
Fed Ex is another story... the Home Delivery serviceis terrible. Don't ever use it to ship to a business address. They are not Fedex drivers, but independents who contract, and they are really just awful, and unaccountable. The "real" Fed Ex may be OK but because of their association with the schlock Home Delivery service, I just avoid the Fed Ex label altogether.
I remember reading that the PO had a different policy regarding air pistols, but I don't know if that was validated. I received a nice old Haenel pistol recently via USPS with no trouble at all.
