Some P1 Fun today
« on: April 29, 2010, 02:02:46 PM »
Well it was windy as heck today, 23 mph with gusts up to 45 mph
so I made a stop by the gun shop, he had a good deal on Sling studs buy 4 get 4 free the cost per piece is 1.25 so i think i got a nice deal
anyways he was unpacking UPS and he had a new shipment of Crosman field hunting pellets which the P1 loves so i grabbed 4 tins
and a brick of  LR ammo also on sale( Wolf match grade yellow lable 500 ct normally 60 bucks today 45)
went to my inlaws so the boys could ride their 12 volt Johndeer tractor around
i set up a target and got the P1 shooting 1/2" hight at 10 yards
set up some pop cans and started to plink
i was getting them quite well 9 outta 10 at up to 20 yards
i cant wait for the season to open on squirrels lol
with the wind though i had to really compansate as it was blowin the pellets off coure a bit
when i shot longside the fence dead on
target atop the fence the wind was blowing the pellets to the right by an inch or more
i ran 2 tins of 250 through her today and then decided to tag some ants so i got up o the pool deck and waited for ants to crawl around in the sand at between 5 and 10 yards
i was hitting pretty good
all and all a good day plinking

sound's like a great day,I thought you all were still butt deep in snow up there LOL.didn't know of snow ant's till now.wind really bite's with lite pellet's, but I didn't know it would drift that far at 20 yd's,I've never shot a pellet in that high of wind yet sound's challenging, here in ohio that's about the going cost of wolf target match(now that .22 are catching up with demand)&500 pellet's in a day is ALWAY's a good day!!!!
