Possible Virus on Airgun Net
« on: May 05, 2010, 10:26:24 AM »
I tried to log into Brad's directory listing on his site today and got a redirect to a fake MSN-styled site that tells me I have beau coups trojans, viruses, etc. I DON'T have any, per a recent scan. Original redirect site is www1.safeyourpc22-pr.com. Now it is using another similar site. Hope this is cleared up soon and doesn't get here!

RF,

I got the same thing.  I know that Google searches were hijacked too.  When clicking on a search result it would redirect you to another site.  I quickly made sure that my virus defs were up to the minute and did another scan.  Looked good but you never know.  Whenever this happens I get spooked and don't do any banking or financial transactions for a day.  That way I'm pretty confident Norton has gotten caught up in their defs.

Still redirecting. Last time it was basing off of a different website than what I first reported. Can't get into Brad's link page. Just close out the browser or go to another link. DON'T open or save any files. It will prompt you to. Others are having trouble, as well. And it doesn't seem to be a pc-based problem. More like it's on his site.

I experienced the same situation last night.    Fake MSN and all.     The new security on this computer also failed to confirm the dire warnings of the fake site.

Norton updates its virus definitions every Wednesday (for my Norton Anti-Virus Corporate Edition, anyway), so every Wednesday night, I go in and update my Norton with the latest definition files.
