Level of recoil?
« on: May 08, 2010, 09:25:40 AM »
Hello, all. How are you?

In comparison to other spring-piston air riles, what is the level of recoil of the Gamo Big Cat 1200 (mild, moderate, heavy)? This is to be used to buy an appropriate scope.

Thank you.

Stephen

Moderate or you can use a medium springer rated scope on them. Bushnell, BSA, Hawk etc. Check out what scopes Straightshooters have under there scope section. They list them as light, medium and heavy recoil.
THE ONES I SLEEP WITH: BSA Lightning XL, AA TX-200, AA ProSport, BSA Ultra, HW-97K, Crosman NPSS .177, FX Cyclone, HW-30 Nicle Plated, AA-S200, Crosman Marauder, CZ-634, R-9 DG, Webley/Scott UK Tomahawk, Benji Kantana, Benji Marauder, Benji Discovery.....

Stephen, a big welcome to the GTA forum and family.

Yep, I would think the BC is a moderate recoil shooter.

Was looking at the Straight Shooters web sight that Gene recommended. Very impressive, and I just added it to my browser favorites.

I'd say mid range. If you tune it and fill the stock it willcalm down. I put my leapers 4x32 tactedge on it and it's a great combo. I like that scope, just needs to be a 3-9 and would be perfect.
Gamo Hunter gas piston GRT 3 leapers 3-9x40ao
Big Cat GRT 3 leapers tactedge
Diasy 120
RWS 350 mag PG2 leapers 4-16x50ao
Crossman 2200
Crossman 2250
Crossman 1377
Daisy 880
2 Chinese underlevers
2 European break barrels.
