Yes, the brass shims most likely will fix the barrel sway problem.  A member here tried that and it worked for him.  I've read unfortunately that Gamo really put that barrel pivot bolt on really tie....maybe even epoxied it or something.  And the risk of stripping the Torx head is too high for me.
