Beak-Shot Yellow Beak
« on: May 11, 2010, 07:38:56 PM »
Another head-shot from the .177 FX Cyclone!!!!  Almost another eye-shot...only 2mm off....shot it on the beak and the ft. lb. put it down immediately.  Distance was only 24 yards away.  After de-feathering it I saw alot of hemorrage down it's neck, shoulder and abit in it's right breast.

As if head shooting a Starling wasn't tough enough, you get bored and shoot the eyes out of them. Now it's the beak ?  What's next, shoot the feathers off so ya don't have to pluck 'em by hand !!!!:D  :D

Good shooting Stanley !!!!

Another fine shot at those pesty Yellow Beaks Stanley!

I really like the FX Cyclone.  I bid on a couple of them late last year but the sellers wouldn't budge on the price.  They were .22cal but one had a very bad scratch so I was kind of glad he didn't accept my offer.
I think the Condor excitement is wearing off little by little.  I don't even feel like doing what I had planned for some of them.  I know I want a nice European multi-shot PCP next.  It's just a matter of time before I sell one of the Condors to fund a multi-shot PCP.  I can only go up or more fancy from a Condor I guess, although the Mrod is always in the back of my mind too.  At this point I want a nice one with a decent stock like an AA 410 ERB/FAC or at least one with a full-shrouded or bull barrel.

Thanks guys.  As always...I aim for center mass on these vermins.....just lucky the pellet hit it`s head/beak.  My Cyclone`s shooting just abit to the right....I`ll have to adjust the scope settings.

That's ok.  I remember I took 2 Grackles with head shots in the Fall of '08 with the Condor .22 at 45yds.  I was aiming at their breast or center mass, but because the gun was zeroed at 30yds, I did not compensate for the extra distance so it shot high.  It so happened the pellet found their head both times, and they were doa when they hit the ground :)   You gotta love it when things work out better than you thought, hehe.
