just to give you fellas a little storey about hog hunting.  i spent almost a year in new zealand  .One weekend i was at the top side of the south island where my brother in law lived.  He ran a bakery there ,  very small community .  Well one mourning this man pulled up in a old toyota truck with a wood bed on it and in the back of it was a dead  wild hog , he also had a dog box on it with all sorts of dogs .ll of them looked kinda rough to me scard all over. well any way i got to talking to him  about going hunting and he says mate  you be ready in mourning and you can go with me, man i was excited .  Well i got up early next   day and he showed up  took me to hell and high water in the bush as he called it. well he stops  gets out, lets all these dogs out  and says lets go I'm looking kinda dumb founded looking at him and i ask  what am i going to shoot well he starts laughing and says what are you talking about yank i got you something right here and he hands me  looks like a old hickory butcher knife thats been ground down to a point.[  He says mate this is all you will need the dogs will hold the pig down and you run up and stick him in the neck]. well i am not going to tell you i was about to *_*_*_*_*_* my pants  damn whats wrong with this guy i need a gun !!!!  to shoot that thing from some distance. Well any way  the dogs never got on a trail so i quess i was saved .I HATE TO SAY IT BUT I QUESS I WAS KINDA RELIEVED.  I didn't want him to think we americans are scared of fighting a pig with a knife. He asked me several more times to go but i always seemed to have something else to do i would hate  to have my kids reading the obiturary about their father killed in a foreighn country trying to fight a wild pig. I can tell you those kiwis got more ...........  than i have . after i seen the size of that thing on the back of that truck with those tusk i was sure that i did not want to fight it with a old hickory butcher knife!!!!  thanks  david
