Hello there, I finally took a plunge and joined this site.  I've been lurking in these forums but wished I did it sooner, like before I bought my rifles last year, then it would've changed my purchasing decisions.  Overall, I'm happy and satisfied with what I have.  I just wanted to find an alternative route to shoot inexpensively as ammo prices keep going up so I bought myself 3 Gamo rifles.  I used to have 4 but sold my Big Cat for some ammo.  I have a Whisper, Viper, and Varmint Hunter.  All fitted out with different Leapers scopes, but all have Leapers ring mounts.  And have the GRT trigger of course.

Whisper stock is switched out with the Viper stock, now it looks like the Whisper Deluxe.

3-9x44 Leapers Accushot SWAT scope (mid range)

4-16x56 Leapers Accushot SWAT scope (long range)

Sorry, no pics of the Varmint Hunter.  It is at my brothers' house and hasn't let go of it yet.  It has a 3-12x44 Leapers Accushot SWAT scope and the GRT trigger system.
I'll be posting more threads about my problems and questions later, but for now I just wanted to say hi.  I am happy with where my rifles are at now but I know there are plenty of improvements to be made.

Welcome Arvin, very nice to have you with us. I have several GAMO rifles in my collection and they are great shooters.  I'll be looking forward to your future posts and remember.... if you hunt with those shooters be sure to post the pics and stories in the Hunting Gate... we just love hunting pics and stories  :)

I hope so.  I'm looking for a good tuner.  I can get excellent groups with my Whisper but my Viper is terrible with accuracy.  I can never shoot 3 consecutive good shots with my Viper.  It violenty jerks around, I added a 2 pound lead bag in the stock and stuffed it with plastic grocery bags to help counter the recoil, but it didn't help me much with shooting but improves the overall balance and weight of the rifle.  I know its going to need a tune.  I'll be starting  another thread about all my problems and questions I have built up through the months.  It has been frustrating trying different shooting techniques but my Viper is the only one that is giving me problems shooting.

Welcome to the GTA Forums Arvin !

The BEST Air Gun Forums on the Internet !!!!!! And, It's such a GREAT PLACE TO BE !!!!!!

Very nice collection you have going there ! And you have made the BEST Mod that you can make on a Gamo, the GRT-III trigger !!!!!

Accuracy problems are normally due to the wrong pellet, loose screws that hole the rifle to the stock or improper hold. Try holding the rifle firm, and place the hand that supports the for end between the the front tip of the stock and the trigger guard. Be Sure that you place supporting hand in the same place each time ! Fires five shots using the same hold, and make notes to yourself. Move your hand forward an inch, and try again, after that keep trying until you find the sweet spot. Some air rifles can be Hold Sensitive !!!

You might also want to check the inside of the muzzle break, and see if there are and marks inside made by pellets hitting the break before leaving the barrel ! It might be off center ?

If none of these help you, just send us a post, there are other causes !

And most fill their stocks with Memory Foam.

Now that you have joined our air gun family, I hope to see you here often !

I used to have a 3 pound lead bag in my stock but it sacrificed a lot of comfort, so I switched it out to 2 pounds which felt optimal.  Thank you for the warm welcome guys.  I love my shooting my Gamos and can't wait to get these tuned.

Welcome Arvin, always good to see another Whisper owner !  :D

As Big Bill listed, there are common things that can/should be checked. A Tune is great, but may not always  solve all issues with a gun such as wrong pellet, bad scope, or hold issues.  I'd recommend you check all that Bill listed before sending the gun out... can't hurt !

Alvin, a big welcome to the GTA forum and family.  Good job with the GRT III trigger....that right there improved the accuracy of your Gamos 100%.
