Beeman R 9 double gold .177 cal

Any one out there love their beeman R 9's? if so let me know!!!
Today I bought my self another present, a new .177 Cal Beeman R 9 double gold rifle with it's 4x12 scope, This rifle is just plain gorgeous and I must say I was shooting 1/4"  3 shoot groups at ten yard right out of it's wrapping. All I did was adjust the scope within 3 shots and I was on the money with some wadcutters.
This weekend I will be buying another Beeman R 9 gold finger in .20 cal, in  new condition, I hope the .20 cal will be a real shooter.
This little rifles have some awesome feel on your hand that makes them feel natural to point, actually this little R 9 feels like my Webley Patriot just in baby size, LOL.
Any and all advice from all of you  R9 shooters will be greatly appreciated as to what pellets and so forth have been  great combinations for you, yfis dan

I may not have a r9 but i shoot my buds and i like the feel of them in my hands and the trigger is right on time ,they r very accurate .the .20 cal gives u the speed of a .177 and the power of a .22 in my opinon which is the best of two in one cal....jorge

I have an  R9 GF in .177, seems to like H&N FTT's the best so far.  Bought it second hand but in like new condition, and not used much.  Once I got rid of the twang/buzz (JM tune kit), it's turned into a real sweetheart, and has become my favorite shooter.  I like it even better than my TX 200.  You're right about the balance, it's perfect, and it points like an extension of your body.  I have a Bushnell 3200 Elite 10x40 on it, reparallaxed for 35 yards.  It's a great combo, and makes it a nice hunter, just point and shoot.  I'd considered a .20 when I got this, but I prefer my springers be .177.  Later.

Don't mean to bust your bubble here but don't expect to much speed out of a stock or even a tuned R9 .20cal you'll be lucky to 730- 740fps out of one but other than that enjot it if your looking to get some power get the R1 in.20cal or HW80, 800fps out of the box w/FTT's I know from experience!

The Beeman R-9 GF, and itis a GREAT and beautiful air rifle ! Mine is .20 cal. and was so accurate out of the box, that I thought that I missed my second round fired, but it just went through the same hole, just as the third and fourth round ! That was at 10m with Crosman Premiers ! It really loves JSB's though, how could it get better ?

The .20 cal. is the best of both worlds between the .177 and .22 cal rifles. I have been shooting the .20 for many years in my two Sheridan's, and it never failed me ! Accuracy and power to spare!

Enjoy your new babies, and when your having too much fun, suck on a lemon, it will get that smile off of your face so that you can get you face back on the stock to shoot ! It works for me

I love my R9. I have wound up having all HW's and I am quite happy with that. Unless some big advance is made in spring powered rifles I will be shooting instead of shopping. I like that. I might consider trading my .22 HW50S for a .177 but that's about it.

My thoughts are just as equal as yours jwh2 i,m also thinkin of trades a few.22,s for.177s cause i have no more of that cal. I own 1 .20 cal thats it and its a 1971 benji blue s.and they are very relieable ...geewhiz

Congratulations Daniel on your R-9 GF purchase. I've shot 7.9gr cpl's (boxed) exclusively in my ,177  R-9GF since I getting it a few years ago and have had no reason to try any other pellet although many shooters swear by the JSB pellets for this rifle. After 3000 or so shots velocity did slow down to about 800fps due to spring fatigue.A trip to Paul Watts restored and increased velocity to 900fps and made this Great air rifle even better than it came from the factory.Long story short...I Love my R-9 and only wish I had bought one sooner. I suspect you will feel the same way too pretty soon.

Congrats on your new rifle,,  they are beautiful.  I have one in .177 and one in .22 caliber and they are both simply amazing shooters.  I will never part with them

I have a R-9DG .177.. It is one of my favorte and most accuarte springers. Can't hardly miss with this baby. And congratulations on a fine choice of air guns.

Thanks for every ones in put on this great looking rifle, I really appreciate every one sharing their experience with me and very encouraging. I did not get to shoot the r 9 today as i came in late and the sun was gone for the day well maybe tomorrow. I must have shot the rifle yesterday maybe 20 times and was very pleased with the firing cycle as I was trying to listen for the spring twang and could not hear any I asked my daughter and she said none that she could identify. I have a Diana 34 that is for sure twangy accurate but twangy. I'm very pleased with the sound it make just solid thowck.
Any more advice on the R 9 keep it coming!!!!

I bought R-9 DG 0.22 short time ago and loved it very much to the point I ended up buying all the three claibers.  I love my R-9's so much that I bought HW95 just to shoot the open sight version of thr R-9.  My 0.177 shoots JSB exact very well, my 0.2's (including the HW95) shoot H&N Field Target Trophy, and finally my 0.22 shoots RWS hollow point.  I can hit the same hole with either one over and over again.  Somebody mentioned that he has to change spring or tune his rifle after about 3000 pellets because of velocity drop.  I hope that does not happen to me that fast, 3000 pellets are not a lot to make me replace the spring.  After shooting these rifles, I found it hard to go back to my RWS's so I ended up selling them.  The R-9 has a smoothe cocking and firing cylces and not twangy and not loud.

Well boys like I said I was going to buy the Beeman R 9 in .20 cal this weekend, I lied I could not wait and drove my mustang convertible and 40 minutes later it was in my hands.
Man no pellets what to do it's12:03 am, well tomorrow is another day and  now I can sleep knowing that it's in my hands.yfis Dan
