Do anybody use red dot scopes on there springers ...
« on: May 21, 2010, 04:41:19 AM »
And if u do which one do u use and do u find it useful in your targets, plinkin, hunting.I was given one by a member by the name of fxudand i find it to be very useful as i placed it on my qb78d ,i was impressed however they are lightweight but it still held on during my practices at target shootin .I always here scopes ,scopes but i rarely here red dot scopes and i was wondering if anyone use them cause honsetly they are ok maybe not for far distance or even to place on a magnum springer but on a pcp very decent and pistols excellent to keep weight off they are good .Let me know your opions on them and what others do u recommend ,except anything laser cause i like stealth ..God Bless us All...jorge

I have 2 red dot scopes both on CO2 pistols, long eye relief and so I thought better suited fo that. They are great for plinking while I fish :) I would check if dot scopes are springer rated ? I am not sure about that,  so I never tried it on a springer.

red-dot sight, NOT scope

Red dot SIGHTS have ZERO magnification, unlike scopes which have magnification.  And there are a few red dot SCOPES out there.
The red dot sights are sights even though some of them are in tubes which make them look like scopes.

I use TASCO red dot sights on my plinking and trainer rifles.
It is a LOT easier to teach a new shooter to shoot w a red-dot than iron sights or a standard scope.

The only problem is that you have to remember to turn the sight OFF, or you will be replacing batteries.

I tested a magnum springer last week that came with a red dot from the factory.

Very hard to shoot a descent group at 11 yards while using the smallest dot setting available, it fully covered the white center of the bull and I really missed the crosshairs a scope has.

Plinking ok, when you want to do serious target shooting a scope is better.

Red dots are prettymuch suited for pistols because of the short range effectivenss 15 to 20 yrds yes but pass that and ur eye condition is another thing. I would scope the rifle and put a red on a pistol
keep your eyes on the prize & dont let it crawl away.

Another thing I've heard of folks putting reds on the gamo express shotguns that might be a option too
keep your eyes on the prize & dont let it crawl away.
