home made side wheel??
« on: May 22, 2010, 04:00:17 PM »
I am trying to figure out how to cobble together a side wheel for my scope.  It is an A1 Optics 6-24x50 and the side focus knob iis about 44 mm dia.  I have two and have modified a Leapers side wheel to fit that one (its about 2 yrs old with 2000 rounds on it) but I sent back the newer one cause the occular lens came loose and they sent me a new one with a larger SF knob.
It seems to me I saw somewhere someone made one out of pvc plumbing parts.
If you can find some links for me that would be great.  I was unsuccessful searching the forum.

I doubt it's heavy... it's made of plastic.

It's made of P.V.C. & I would guess about 3/4 lb's(never needed weight, but 20 some year guess)I agree with Kp4att would really unbalance weapon & cause alot of stress on scope? A cheap wheel of wood from craft shop would be more easy? Just a thought.

The toilet bracket needs to fit over an over sized wheel and I dont have one to fit it too.  I may have to just make one.
