I just cant believe it
« on: May 24, 2010, 07:22:08 PM »

My son was invited to a birthday party. He was very excited and was going to be the first time we "let him out of the nest".
The poor kid was the only one who showed up. He was there for a couple hours with the other kid whos party it was and had to get home by 7pm prompt. He did great and we were proud of him. Now a week later, my neighbor knocks on the door crying, she had a couple thousand $$ worth of jewelry stolen and they are accusing my 12year old son. The poor guy fell apart. She said, all I want is my jewelry back. she said, If he has them and he turns them over she will drop the charges. She also said the police will be investigating. They already have finger prints. I asked my son in front of here if he knew anything about it and he said no. Well believe me, as a preacher and old AFSP, I grilled him. I know my son when he lies, the boy is innocent.  I told her well get what ever search warrants you need. if he is guilty, the prints will show. I don't have time for all the detail's but the circumstances are not there to put this on him. Poor kid. Makes me mad. Just pray for him and us.

There are many possibilities in a situation like this Paul ?

It could be her trying foran insurance claim.

It could be her son or daughter.

It could be her husband or lover.

It could be a burglar.

The fingerprints will tell the story, up to a point. I hope your son was not in her room, or where she kept her jewelry.

I know personally what it's like to be falsely accused at such a young age !

I will keep him and you in my PRAYERS !

Paul,

I had something similar happen with my daughter where the Mom and Dad came to my house (not crying) saying that my daughter stole a digital camera worth about $800. I did the same as you with saying prove it search my house. I never heard from them again.

Good luck it worked out for me.

Paul, What an awful situation this is for everyone!  Being a week later seems suspect to me and  12yr old boys and jewelry ?? I would be curious if this has happened to her before.  I will pray for both you and your son. Regards, Tony.

Im so sorry this happened to u and your son but i know how it is to be falsely accused and then i was never told im sorry .I may not know you but i believe he was set up and they might had put something he touched in the room so watch out for the fishy scam.I have expensive jewlery also and i dont let people pass beyond a certain point cause of the apartment i live in not even family .first of all he didnt know where the jewlery was at cause people dont lay stuff around like that knowing a party is being thrown .Shadowshot i will pray but i know in my heart that it was a family member and your son is being set up ,they will find no proff at all .only that he was the only one that showed up why ?dont they have any friends or was it set up for it to happen like this...jorge

Paul, ,  listen to this advice please.    Get a lawyer for your son and yourself right now.   Do not speak to the neighbor or the police.   All questions should be directed to your lawyer.    Many years ago I had a simular situation.    My son was almost railroaded for something he did not do.     The police lied to me in my own livingroom.     Said they had traced the tag on a truck involved in a crime  and it was  registered to him.    I sat and said nothing.    My son did not have any vechile registered to him.  All of our vechicles are registered in my Wife's name.   I got a lawyer and all the crap suddenly disappeared.    Get a lawyer, even if it turns out your son has some envolvement or none.

Good Luck.

I have an appointment with a lawyer in one hour. Once I spoke with the paralegal, they waived the consultation fee and worked me in for today. That means a lot to me because they said there was no way they could see me today as they were already overbooked.

Awful convenient for her to only have your son to point a finger at, with noone else showing up at a party!  Isn't it the parents responsibility to supervise underage children who's safety is their responsibility?  What were they doing when someone was going through her jewels?  Sounds way too fishy to me not to be a settup!  Hopefully a calll from your lawyer will straighten all this out.  Good luck sir..
