Good deal on a dinger alert
« on: May 31, 2010, 04:47:55 AM »
Since you guys are having such good luck using these infrared alerts, I decided to get one to let me know when the nuisance armadillos comes under my fence to dig up my yard.  I have taken out 2 of them with my 20guage shotgun, but they are nocturnal, and are very hard to get a shot at.

I found these guys on Ebay, and they had the best price I could find. $6.96 plus $9.99 shipping. They shipped to my home within a week.      http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290374316032&rvr_id=&crlp=1_263602_263622&UA=WXI8&GUID=ee8ec5b31280a0e2057064c0fec2ddf3&itemid=290374316032&ff4=263602_263622

I would like to take one of the armadillo's with an airgun, but I don't think a pellet will penetrate their armor.

 Good hunting, snookman

Thanks for that link.  I can never have enough Ding Dongers :)

You can take the armadillo with an airgun.  Many people do that.  You just have to shoot them in the head.

NO problem Harry. I might try a head shot with my B26-2 with 8.8gr. Crow Magnums, if the opportunity presents itself. If not, the shotgun always works.

I think a headshot would get them.  I'd just prefer a .22.  Sounds like you need a Benji Trail XL! :)

I've been looking at all the NitroPiston guns with great interest, but I think I will wait until Crosman gets all the bugs worked out before I buy one.
