Trail NP or Diana 34

Well, I managed to scratch together a little cash, and the addiction is calling again.

 After the problems that I had with the Chinese B26-2, I said that my next rifle would be German, but the Nitro Piston guns from Crosman are really very interesting.

I know the Remington NPSS are made in the USA, but are just out of the price range right now.

 I would like some help with the pros and cons of each gun so I can make a decision.

 In a perfect world I would just get both, but I live in the new and improved real world now. LOL

With the 34 you have readily available parts from multiple sources. Very easy to work on. Good out of the box trigger. You can change power levels to suit your needs, just by changing a spring.

I have both... the 34 wins and keeps getting better..  Keep in mind the 34 barrel may droop if using a scope. But there is a mount that corrects that....

the 34 is a classic. i learned on one 25+  years ago... and my father still has it. I now have my own, and with a good optic kit, is an umbelievably accurate and smooth rifle to shoot. I i could only have one rifle, the 34 would be it. (and i have R1s, 7s, HW77s, BSAs, etc...)

I had a 34 ten years ago and it was a terrific gun. I wish I never sold it.

I own  a Trail NP now in really like it. It is more powerful than my 34 was but they are both good guns. I think you will be happy with either on of them.

The 34 (depending on which model you get) can be had with iron sights whereas the Trail is scope only. The 34 will have a better trigger out of the box. A replacement trigger for the trail is $30, so you should figure that into the overall cost. The Trail has a gas spring and there is currently no gas spring option for the 34. The 34 is easily home tuned and there are springs and seals from JM and Vortek. The Trail is limited to replacement parts from Crosman. From what I've heard power should be similar. I would lean more toward the 34, but that's just me

Super!!!!! I thought I was going to have to be the AH that I am and tout the 34 and slam a strut powered B-18/19,.....but it seems everybody else has done the damage for me,....Go 34!! tjk

You are so right about the strut powered B18/19. tell you one thing  the NP is so much better than my Remington Summit... I don't even shoot that thing anymore... good looks but that is as far as it goes.....

 I found one online for $177.21 + $18.00 for shipping. Wood stock, no scope. I think I might push the button on it.

 I will save up for the droop comp. mount and scope.

 The Trail will still be there when it's time for my next fix.
