Well more adventures from the backyard. Yesterday in the late afternoon I had been peeking out my windows all day looking for potential targets. Got a shot on a squirrel but that was sadly unsuccessful. A bit later in the day I noticed that a nice grackle couple sitting searching for worms. So I pulled out the RWS 48 and loaded a predator. Got the larger of the two in my sights and pulled the trigger. The 16 grain pellet went right through his head. I chose to leave him there for a few minutes and see if anything interesting would come to inspect the body. Well sure enough a bunch of blackbirds swooped in and looked like they were fighting over the body. Just as they neared the corpse the other grackle from earlier came in and scared them all away. So again I loaded a pellet and pulled the trigger and this one went down just as quickly as the first did. The pellet actually put a depression in the grackle's chest. Pretty interesting hopefully you folks can see it in the pics.
