$54 Crosman Storm XT w/3x9x32 Centerpoint
« on: June 04, 2010, 11:50:20 AM »
I was in Walmart this morning looking for some stuff for my smoker and I of course had to go check out the sporting goods department.  As I walked into the sporting good dept. I saw 2 employees putting those red colored "sale" stickers on all kinds of stuff.  I looked at the air guns they had on the shelf and sure enough the .177 Crosman Storm XT with the 3x9x32 Centerpointe scope was red tagged for $54 bucks and the Crosman Phantoms were red tagged for $75 bucks.  The last thing I need is another .177 rifle but for $54 bucks I just couldn't resist so into the shopping cart it went.  I almost bought one of the Phantoms as well but I made myself put it back on the shelf.  They also had a good supply of the new .22 caliber "Titan" gas ram as well as a good supply of the .22 cal CPHP's but none of those came home with me.......  yet    :)

Oh yeah, I almost forgot.... the Storm XT box shows a picture of the "new" improved trigger and darn if it don't look exactly like a GRT.....  I'll open up the box later and take a look at it and see what's up..........

Anyway, just thought I'd post this in case anyone is interested in checking their local WallyWorld for the Storm XT's....

I paid a visit to our local SuperCenter last night and they finally had new shelves set up with the Phantom, Storm and Titan. But, there were no prices on them as of yet. I'll check back this afternoon. If they are THAT price, one is coming home with me too. Need????? LOL

Unusual concept, when talking about fun items.

Happy Shooting!!!!

Dave

I think the $109.99 is their regular price.  I guess it varies from store to store,  2 days ago I was in a different Walmart  than today and they had the Storm XT for $109.99 as well.

Ed,,, I stood there staring at the rifle and I kept repeating to myself .... "you don't need it"   "you really don't need it"    "you have rifles you don't shoot now... you don't need it"...    but for $54 bucks I just couldn't pass it up  :)

Matter of fact I just came in from the backyard range.  I took the Storm out of the box and gave it the "once over".   It has a really nice stock on it, comfortable and nicely stained with some good grain,,, the metal is perfect... a deep blueing job that is very even and not a scratch that I can find anywhere.  I didn't even clean it, just blew the dust out of the barrel and started shooting CPL's.  Cocked nice and smooth, no twang at all, no vibration, a very nice firing cycle and best of all........... that "new and improved" trigger they advertised on the box ?????   it's fantastic  !!!!  Nice first stage and very smooth predictable second stage that breaks darn near as nice as my GRT's    :)     shot some groups at 15 yards with open sights and got nice dime sized groups....     Best darn $54 bucks I ever spent    :)     I'm thinking about going back tomorrow and buying another one.....

The one I bought was in the cardboard box but they also had a couple in the plastic blister pack. but they were all marked $54.    The one in the cardboard box came with a 3x9x32 scope while the one in the plastic blister pack came with a 4x32 scope.  The one in the cardboard box had a separate picture on the box advertising  their "new and improved" trigger while the one in the plastic did not and the trigger looked different than the pic of the "new and  improved" one.   I went with the cardboard box version since I wanted the variable power scope and also wanted to see how the "new" trigger functioned.

Ezman...... if you want me to pick you one up I'll take a ride back to WallyWorld and get one for ya.... I have no idea what shipping would come to but if you want it I'll be  happy to buy it and send it to ya.

Thanks Jeff, I'd lke the new triggered, 3-9x32 version but as soon as I give you the green light, my Wally World will probably red tag them here. THAT'S always my luck. But thanks!!!!

Found a small pile of the boxed XT's at a local wally-world.  But they were not marked down to $54.
When I found the sporting goods dude, he had a handful of red stickers to post, one of which was the $54 Storm XT!

Two of them instantly jumped into my cart.  Took a quick peek at each to make sure they looked ok on the outside.
Completely unassembled one - degreased - ready for deburr, yada yada.
Other one, iron sights, shot 10 or 15 pellets to get the poison out - whoa - spotted a grackle in the cherry tree - pointed it - popped him.

They also marked the Big Cats down to $74.
