Hey guys, a use for them tails
« on: May 07, 2007, 05:41:33 AM »
I should have mentioned this a long time ago.  You can send in those squirrel tails to Mepps in exchange for spinners.
Just click http://www.mepps.com and look on the left side at the bottom.
Click on Squirrel Program and be sure to read the whole page as some states don't allow selling squirrel tails.
Full instructions are provided.

I love to trout fish here in north Georgia and Tennessee and have gotten into fly tying, it's a great hobby. I use the tails for all sorts of things. You need to give it a try if you enjoy fly fishing.

That's true Bill,,, nothing better than standing hip deep in a cold running stream with a flyrod in your hands casting to that big rainbow or brookie that keeps rising in that pool behind the rocks...........

only way it could get better is if you have an airgun slung over your shoulder just in case you see a tree rat in a tree on the bank of the stream.   :)

Finally I can justify my habit, I only have to shoot ten thousand squirrels a year and preserve them perfectly and pay the postage and then find a way to sell all the lures I take in trade. Great post, you have to love the thought!!
