It seems to me that people are divided into those that like it and those that don't. Some have criticized it heavy wieght, it's plastic trigger blade and it's stock. The 54 is slightly less than the weight of a Beeman RX-2 (according to the data on Pyramyd website) The RX may balance better, but total weight is close. I really like mine and it is very accurate. If I do my part it will hold under 1 inch @ 50 yards with Gamo pellets! With JSB's it's usually less. It really shines from a rested postion, although one could use it in the field off hand. The recoilless nature of the rifle makes it virtually immune to hold sensitivity issues. I can rest mine against a soft or hard object, grip the stock tight or loose it don't matter, as long as I'm steady with the cross hairs. I had Ed K do a full tune/trigger job w/ a JM Monolith spring back in 05. My 54 would be one of the last airguns I'd part with.
