« on: June 06, 2010, 02:40:30 PM »
Ok I've been reading post in GTA for a couple weeks now and member keep referring to CPHP.
I can guess that they are some kind of pellet.
So what the heck are CPHP?

Yes I knew they were pellets. I just haven't caught on to all the forums acronyms.

Yellowstone,

You gotta watch those big words, i.e."acronyms".  There's some of us from the southern states, we're just a bunch of ol' boys that shoot air guns.  Them big words mess us up.  Was gonna look that one up, but the only dictionary we got around here is keepin' the broke table leg held up.  Also, it's probably a good idea not to type to fast cause some of us read real slow too.  LOL  Just funnin' with ya buddy.  A lot of the people like the CPHP pellet, none of my guns like them so far, but a few of my more powerful springers like the CP 10.5 gr. heavies.  Have a good evening buddy.

Tim

LOL Sorry about the "Ac-row-nim" I picked up a Titan NP from Wally OH sorry (W-AL-E) LOL I have some RWS superdomes and some CPUM crossman premier ultra magnums. The Titan likes the Crossman. My 1322 likes the RWS.
The thing I don't like about the Crossman the don't put the weight on them.

Been on vaction for a week so I'm going to finish off today by throwing some pellets away at some paper. OK I was typing real slow that time is that better.LOL

They're not the only ones.

If you want to compare, Pryamyd Air is a good place to chech pellet weights.

But, if your looking for accurate weights, sometimes they're off a tad.   They list the CPHP as 14.3gr. - my powder scale says 14.2 with a few that are 14.1.

I’m not too concerned about the exact weight just if they heavy 22.6 or are they light 8.6 (.22cal)
So the RWS and CPUM are about the same weight. They shoot pretty close the RWS don’t fit in my Titan GP as well as the CPUM. The CPUM are cleaner too.

Yeah the only way to really know weight of a pellet is to use a scale.I use both balance beam & electronic,I like balance better, not messed with by light's or other magnetic field's & you don't have to let warm up to be acc.,The cphp's really weigh out at 8.0 instead of the claimed 7.9 grs.Remamber Yellerstone go slew with us wen's e litle slew,an only one dumb question, the one not asked.Heck, I still do not understand half the pet name's of the gun's on here?

I learned my times tables in the 60's......learning my pellet tables now.

At first I thought you guys were shooting California Highway Patrol, which is why I joined the group.
...only to find it's a silly pellet.  (I just bought 2 tins today, good stuff.)   :)

My Gamo CFX gets nickel sized groups at 35 yards and my Crosman NPSS gets 1.5" groups at 65 yards with the CPHP pellets.  I was picking off starlings at 40 yards this weekend with my CFX.
