definitive info on Chinese air guns?
« on: June 19, 2010, 04:28:55 PM »
HI all,
I've recently purchased a Beeman Model 1073, also known as an RS2 air rifle. But I also own a Xisico B4-2 and a B3-1. I know the Beeman is made by the Chinese firm S/R Industries. Xisico is Xisico. Then there's TechForce and a host of other Chinese manufacturers. Is there a book or a website that really breaks it all down insofar as to who the players are? Among the brands, which factory is known to produce the best, most consistent quality rifles (and pistols)? I know it's a tall order, but someone must have a clue. How far behind are Chinese rifles from their European counterparts? Subjective, I know.
I'll do some googling myself. If I find the Chinese Airgun library, I'll post a link.

Hi Mike,
Maybe I need to ask this in another way, in a new thread: "Please list the company that made your Chinese rifle" What do you think?  I've been searching, and even found a site for Chinese manufacturers, but a search within it for air rifles got me nothing. Interesting.

Bentong got the one I am aware of: http://www.airrifle-china.com

A bunch of variations on the AR1000, AR3000 that come out as different guns at different prices. These represent the TF89 and TF87 for example. I imagine that between Shanghai Air and Xisico you cover a good block of what is repackaged and sold here.

I can't remember exactly what research I did to find the SAGF, but I can tell you they don't like to answer email!
THE GUNS:
â€¢ Cometa Fusion Star (Gene tuned) 12/10/09
     â€¢ Cometa Fenix RWS 94 2/8/10
     â€¢ RWS Diana 48 .177 1/8/10 [TRADE for RWS 350]
     â€¢ Walther Force 1000 .177 11/11/09
     â€¢ TF89 .22 10/26/09 (Gene tuned 1/6/10)
     â€¢ TF89 .177 (Gene tuned) 9/6/09
     â€¢ Remington Vantage 1200 .177 8/22/09 (Gene tuned 1/6/10)
     â€¢ Daisy 953 (pneumatic) 8/02/08
â€¢ Gamo Big Cat 2/5/10 (broken...free...maybe gas piston?!)

THE SCOPES:
     â€¢ Sightron SII 4-16x42 AO
     â€¢ Leupold VX-II 3-9x33 Ultralight EFR AO
     â€¢ Bushnell Trophy 6-18x42 AO
     â€¢ Swift 686 High Recoil 6.5-20x44 AO
â€¢ Hawke Air Max 4-12x40 AO
     â€¢ Bushnell Banner 6-18x50 AO

BAM is no longer going to sell to Xisicousa from what I have heard and talked to BAM about, the BAM rifles will be sold to Crosman and possibly Stoeger and possibly others,, Shanghai makes the QB-78 and others offered at ARchers they have bought the Beeman name so their for other models , Xisico makes their own rifles and is selling out the last of their stock of the BAM, not to worry have parts to last for years.  Their are other makers that are selling the lower quality stuff through other distributers....it's a time of transistion for them as the government is changing the rules and there is a new exchange policy coming into effect, look for higher prices and better quality. At least one of the US distributers may be dropping some of the Euro models and going with the China stuuf do to better prices and better quality.....

Mike,
That's really good information. Helps put the puzzle together, bit by bit. I see that Xisico has updated it's website, and is offering what looks like new products.  http://www.xisicousa.com/newprod.html
The new XS-180 pistol looks interesting  http://www.xisicousa.com/xsp180.html  Though as usual, the claims of FPS will no doubt prove to be highly optimistic. Still, an interesting  looking line-up
