IIRC correctly they were Japanese made and were supposed to have very good lenses. I have never seen one so I can't compare them to any other scopes. Plus with the demise of the Beeman line up, they will gather some collector status, driving up the price too. Nathan

collecting makes sence because i see no use for a 21mm tube and there are alot of scopes out there with great lenses that have a useful diameter

What makes them so special?? Since I've very recently become the new owner of one of these scopes thanks to a valuable forum member who sold me one I can tell you what I know. These scopes are japanese manufacturer( Hakko I believe) with very good glass. They focus down to seven yards. They were some of the first scopes made to withstand two direction recoil from airguns. The model I have is 2X7X32 AO with clear, bright glass and fine plex reticle. Vintage early eighties. Collectible but useable.

Because quality stuff cost money. Even back in the day when Beeman offered them for sale they were pricey. Here's a pic of my 2-7x scope.

the main thing i was confused about was the 21mm tubes. that seems to small to be useful. yours looks to be 32mm and has a wide view
