Yes John, I have bought two of them from Harbor Freight.. One is a hand held battery operated one that reaches 25000 RPM.. It come with a charger and two batteries.. I cost me $10.00 ... It came with a few tools but I bought the big tool set which was $14.00... Then I bought a plug in dremel tool for $19.95 and it came with a load of extra tools to boot...:) Both are Chinese with name of Chicago  Branded on the side of them.. The reason I got the hand held one was it is great for detailed work on the air rifle actions, cylinders, pistons, triger housing, etc..:) The second plug in is very powerful and I use it for heavier applications..

I found one at a Big Lots store, that is made like a Roto Zip, with a 5amp motor. It came with a flexshaft, router base and a couple of other atatchments, it was $40. It has alot more power than a dremel, so you can do alot more with it. I will get the #'s off of it and post them later.

I had a dremel prolly 15-20 years ago but I hardly ever used it because of the work I was doing at the time other tools did the job better like mini die grinders air operated and what not. But now I am seeing that one of these would prolly greatly enhance my work since I am needing a little finer precision tooling like a drememl to complete my tasks. I would like to hear from others experiences also. Thanks Mike and Gene for your input!!

John, the one that I am using now is a UST model2214P 5amp. motor variable speed to 30,000rpm. It includes: circle cutter, plunge router base, flush trim base, straight edge guide, flex shaft, various cutting and grinding bits. I used this to inlet the action on the stock that I made, also use it to make grips. I don't know of any other place that sells them, but you might have a Big Lots in your area. Dremel tools are nice, but the last ones I looked at only had a .6amp motor you could touch the bit with your finger and stop it, not enough power.

I'm using an Older model (about 9 years old) Dremel 300 series with a flex shaft. It works OK for most things. But like Bullseye said, not enough power at times.

I found and bought the same roto tool that bullseye did about a year ago. I use IT more than the real Dremel. They both use the same size bits with the standard collets (1/8"). The Big Lots roto tool is actually better than the Dremel in my opinion.

Well I went to Big Lots today and they didnt have any rotary tools what so ever except for drills. Then I went online to search out this model that you had given and found nothing but a bunch of bosch roto zip and dremel moto tools. So I guess I am out of luck. In looking at most of the dremel models you are right they only have a 1.5 amp motor which isnt really that great. Maybe next time you are at the Big Lots in your area you can see if they are still selling them.

Will do John, the last time I was there they had several. I went on big lots web site and could not find anything, except store layout and location.
