B-3 #2 First Blood
« on: May 19, 2007, 02:22:59 AM »
Like most people, here I ordered a Cummins B-3, and the rear sight was broken. Called the nice people at Cummins and they sent me another one. Rear sight was broken on that one too, but I wasn't going to get greedy LOL. Shot #1 while I moded #2. Polished and honed everything while waiting for the QF2 kits to arrive, bed lined the stock, installed a 22 cent spacer and synthetic seal.

Was sitting outside work yesterday morning, having a smoke and slurping some coffee, talking with the building manager on the hood of my truck, when this guy pops up from under the steps across the road. Building manager starts complaining about how much damage the 'chucks and rabbits do to the foundations and stuff, and how much it costs to live trap them and relocate. I tell him, I can take care of that. 25 yards away put the cross hairs between the base of his ears (he was facing away from us), and the Predator did the rest. 1 DRT (dead right there) bunny.  He didn't even twitch. After I scooped him up, The building manager tells me, be discrete and knock yourself out. The chucks are still skittish, but usually by June the get so bold you can all most step on them, and it's a target rich environment. 40 old WWII wooden buildings and everyone has at least one 'chuck, not counting bunnies, tree rats, and geckles. This is seriously going to interfere with my work lol.

Nice shootin Gregg, looks like you are about to have alot of fun cleaning that place up. There is a huge plant nursery close by my house that HAD a bad pest problem, hehe. Armodillos, racoons and possems would tear up the plants to get at the worms that were under pots, it would take days to fix what they did overnight. So the owner contracted my brother, a friend and myself to correct the situation, $25each plus $5 a kill. We would go out there at night and ride around on there carts with a spotlight and a couple benji's. Between the 3 of us we would get 35-50 in a few hours, but after about 3 weeks they were gone, but sure was fun while it lasted.

Well Bill we tried to make it last, but the owner thought that if we were only getting 5-10 a night that he wasn't getting his money's worth. And we were not going to tell him we'd do it for free, hehe. That was 20yrs ago and the fuzz frowns on that type of thing now. It was a blast while it lasted though.

Thanks Guys-
It only looks good because of all the advice I've been reading about here.
I don't have a chrony (yet), but like some here once said, Mr. Bunny didn't care how many FPS I'm getting from it. I hate to admit it, but I like shooting it better than the G1 (and it's a lot lighter too).
Now I'm thinking about an XS-B40 in .22.
Once you start you just can't stop LOL
