Hey Guys,,,,,,,  sorry I've been out of touch lately,,, like Ed said,,, I went back to work recently and have been working my butt off.  Since I went back to work on a "light duty" status they changed my work schedule and as a result I don't have as much time off as I used to so my online time and my hunting time has been  affected.  Thanks for thinking of me though,,, it's always nice to be missed..    :)    I'm starting to get used to my new work schedule so I should be able to manage my time better and work in more time online on GTA and get to hang out with you guys again  :)

As for the hunting, I finally managed to get out to the duck farm this afternoon after work and had a pretty good hunt.  I was dead tired when I got home but I really needed to get out and do some airgun hunting, to kinda soothe my brain, so I forced myself to grab a gun and head to the farm.  I grabbed the .177 Goldfinger out of habit,,, felt good to hold her in my hands again  :)

It was really windy today at the farm, I mean really windy, but I managed a couple of good shots and wound up baggin 2 starlings, 1 grackle and 2 nice sized rabbits that were committing the capital offense of eating duck feed.  The rabbits were hanging out together and I got them with 1 head shot apiece at about 20 yards. I nailed the first rabbit and when I fired the second rabbit hopped off a ways but made the mistake of stopping to take a look at me and his buddy.  I took a couple of pics when I got home, I was really looking forward to making my post since I've been "away" for a week or so.  Here's the pics, hope you like em..

Glad to see you back, bud.  Man, that Goldfinger's a nice looking peice!  I've got a pseudo-R9 on the way, swapped off my 1377 for a B20.  Should be fun.  Later.

Jeff, you got some rabbit's, FANTASTIC BUDDY. Look's like you did some damage there and it's good to get out and let Mother Nature sooth thy soul. Even when it was the dead of winter here, I forced myself to get out there and wade through the snow, it was worth every freezing moment. Fantastic pic's of your baby and her harvest and as alway's, sharp shootin. Ed

Glad to see  the Goldfinger is still doing so well for you. I know that you have the Goldfinger in .177 and 22 cal., just wondering why you like the .177 so much ?

Your first choose is usually a .22 cal. and if you like the gun you order it in .177 also. Does the .177 just shoot a little better ?

Have a nice day,
Bill

I promise not to do that again  :)   scouts honor

I'm almost done fine tuning my new work schedule so I should be hanging around GTA  almost as much as I was before they changed my work hours.  It's good to be back   :)

Bill, to answer your question about the .177 Goldfinger,,,,,,, it does certainly have a flatter trajectory than the .22 version but I really can't say it shoots any "better".   My .22 Goldfinger is just as sweet a shooter as it's little brother,   the only reason I usually bring the .177 to the duck farm is that 99% of the time I'm shooting birds there, starlings and such, and I really don't need the added impact of the large .22   however,,, the good thing is that even if I do run across some larger game I know I can still "take it down" with a well placed .177 shot.

I will take the .22 if I am specifically going for woodchucks or squirrels, but like I said, most of my trips to the duck farm for the most part revolve around birds.

I went there today with the .177 Goldfinger after work and did pretty good.  The growing leaves on the trees gave me some overhead cover so I set up directly underneath a large maple tree that was 30 yards away from 2 grain feeders that the starlings were raiding heavily.  I had steady shooting for about an hour and managed to nail about a dozen starlings, 8 of which I was able to retrieve for pics.  The others got airborne and managed to fly into some really thick thorny thickets before dying so I left em there.    The last shot of the day was a 40 yards shot at a crow that landed at the very top of high dead tree.  Nailed him with one shot and down he came.  Hit the ground like a sack of nickels.  I took some pics at home, hope ya like em.

Jeff, just curious about your two B26-2 rifles you have. Do they get a turn at the duck farm or do you just like to use your Goldfingers ?

I ordered another B26 since I liked the first one so much. Going to take this one apart and see what a tune will do for it. If it works out pretty good I will do the same to the first one I bought.
