GRT III trigger installed in S1K
« on: May 21, 2007, 11:29:55 AM »
I recieved the GRT III trigger from CDT in the mail the other day. He let me know when he recieved my bank check and when the trigger was mailed out. A detailed description of the trigger install, along with pictures was sent with the trigger. The installation of the trigger was easier than reading the 4 pages of paper Bob sent me which also includes maintanence and lubing tips.  8)

As a not so good "tinkerer", I brought the instructions and trigger to a great mechanic friend of mine so he could look over the installation.  I followed the first few steps in taking the stock tigger out, and was ready to install the new trigger. No problem.....but my friend say's hey "this spring that came out of the old trigger...um..er...dosen't it have to go back in with the new trigger?" After some more reading I said NOPE. We don't need this spring anymore. We then proceeded to button things up and after 20 minutes I had a good shooter turned into a great one. The difference is awesome.

About a hour later some more friends stopped by who shot this gun a while back and I told them to give it another try with the new trigger. Let me tell you what. Some of these guys could not hit the broad-side of a barn even on a good day and did not do well the last time they shot this gun with the stock trigger.  :o Then they shot some paper with the GRT III and became hooked with shooting this rifle. I nearly had to pry the gun out of their hands just to get in a few shots myself.

Bottom line is that if you buy a Gamo, buy a GRT III trigger from CDT. The enjoyment level of shooting your rifle jumps 10 fold and your marksmanship also jumps into the 10 zone more consistantly and easily. 8)

Great Review Greg.. People just don't know about the difference the GRT-III trigger makes on the Gamo's.. I am right behind you on everything you say..:) Now I own a load of Gamo's and they all have the GRT-III trigger in them and I enjoy shooting everyone of them..:)

Thanks Gene. You are right. I think some people who do not upgrade these Gamo triggers are missing out on something special. The GRT triggers makes a good Gamo rifle into a great one. :D
