OK...SO WHERE IS EVERYBODY SHOOTIN' THIS 3rd and 4th???

I just might do a little myself although I just checked the temp here. It's 97 degrees out there right now. An old man like me gets cooked out there at those temps. Just a wee bit warm for Co2 also.

10-4 on the heat.  I shot some late yesterday afternoon and I was soaked with sweat when I finished which wasn't long.

This morning while I had some chicken on the BBQ I sat on my back porch and had a little "Safari" shootout (a plastic hippo, plastic rhino, one headleass plastic army man, and a couple chunks of wood that have blown off of my pellet trap from being pounded too much).  My porch has an extension of my roof, so it's covered from the sun, and I've added a ceiling fan out there too.  Still not great with the afternoon sun that pretty much hits the porch dead on, but pretty nice in the a.m. before the sun makes it around.  I absolutely love shooting the plastic army men, if you get a good body/groin shot they tend to blow into many smaller pieces, my kids really dig it when the heads pop off too.  I've had many "real" gun friends over that can't believe it's so hard to hit a 1 1/2" army man at 15 yards.  We've also recently discovered the joy of sticking toothpics into paintballs, then freezing them, then you set up the paintball lollipops into a chunk of foam and shoot at 'em...they're like 40cal I think, pretty tough to hit at 15 yards too, but the explosian is worth the practice!

Tonight we're heading over to my wifes work.  They've roped off the parking lot for just the people that work in that building.  My wifes work sits right next to a boys ranch/park where they are having a carnival and a huge fireworks display(supposed to be one of the largest in the area).  Should be a blast, gonna bring my mini bbq and a cooler of drinks for a tailgate party of sorts.  No BBGuns there though, I'm sure the police will be out in full force.

Hope everyone else is having a great Independance Day and being safe.  Fireworks are only fun if you don't end up in the Emergency room afterwords, and of course one drink is too many if you're driving....no fun waking up in the county jail, Emergency room, or not at all.  Be safe guys, and take care!  Remember what this day is about, and don't forget about or kids that aren't in this country today to celebrate with us...deployment is no fun on holidays:(
