Ya Dave....:) I guess since Sam posted back about the brass, I can not add much..:) Although steel would be heavier but not recommended at all.. I thinki a nice size aluminum and brass muzzle brake may do the trick or just brass... Only thing is brass is like gold to buy.. hehe. I have some 5/8" round and some 3/4" round tube brass in stock.. I have made a couple brakes with brass and alumiunm that are pretty heavy for there size.. Here is a pic of the one I made.. It is a small one but you can at least see what I am talking about..:)This is a set I made for a B-3. A muzzle brake and cocking handle with brass and with knurled handle...
